Human and Labor Rights

Environmental Factors / Green Initiatives
One of Semtech's main objectives is to raise environmental standards in electronics. We support the elimination of lead in electronic products and have implemented various environmental initiatives to promote a greener industry. Our growing list of environmental initiatives, include increasing water recycling and the reduction of:
-
Energy consumption
-
Greenhouse gas emissions
-
Water use
-
Hazardous waste
In addition, Semtech has a number of material and packaging declarations designed to reinforce our commitment to using non-conflict, environmentally friendly and sustainable materials and packages for our products.
Quality Certifications (Business Management Factors)
Semtech is a member of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which is an association that strives for equality in business management systems around the world. Our ISO certifications validate our dedication to maintaining a quality management system and to producing environmentally sustainable products. We are also a green partner of Sony and Canon, and have received multiple military certifications for manufacturing and sustainability. View our quality certifications.
Conflict Minerals
Semtech Corporation is very aware of and sympathetic to the plight surrounding the areas commonly referred to as “conflict areas” as identified by the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI) and section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act enacted in 2010. Our Conflict Minerals Policy, Program and Expectations, outlines detailed procedures expected of Semtech’s employees and suppliers.
Supply Chain
Semtech continuously monitors the procurement activities of our suppliers as they relate to the fabrication and assembly of our products to ensure compliance with all of our quality policies. In addition, Semtech also actively monitors relevant activities, reports and proposals for supply chain improvements by organizations such as RBA and GeSI, and others, as our industry continues to work toward a supply chain that is reliably and verifiably free of “conflict area” minerals.
While Semtech does not directly engage in the procurement of minerals used in the manufacturing of our products, we do take extensive measures (see Semtech’s Conflict Minerals Policy, Program and Expectations) to seek to ensure that the products within our supply chain are not fabricated nor assembled with metals whose origin traces back to an area within the defined “conflict areas” and smelted by nonconforming non-valid smelters.
Semtech is a proud member of the Responsible Business Alliance.
Supply Chain Management
A goal of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) organization within Semtech is to review the supply chain process in order to find opportunities to improve planning and implement technology enhancements within our supply chain.
The specific processes that are an integral part of SCM are: supply chain network design, demand forecasting, inventory optimization, supply planning, and sales and operations planning (S&OP). S&OP is an integrated business management process through which the executive/leadership team continually achieves focus, alignment and synchronization among all functions of the organization.
サプライヤーの責任
Semtech sustains a multi-tier supply chain structure which houses over 100 suppliers with which Semtech must survey for Reasonable Country of Origin (RCOI) for their sourcing of 3TG using the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT). As we survey each supplier, they are in-turn required to survey their supply chain, complete the CMRT and submit that survey back to Semtech. The survey process requires each tier supplier to survey their supply chain all the way down to the smelter level. That smelter must be referenced on the RBA CFS listing as valid and conformant. All suppliers are re-surveyed a minimum of twice per year to confirm compliance.
In addition, Semtech suppliers are expected to adhere to all of Semtech’s Conflict Minerals Policy, Program and Expectations.
Supplier Code of Conduct
Semtech is committed to the highest standards of ethical business conduct. All directors, officers and employees of the Company and its worldwide subsidiaries are expected to abide by the Supplier Code of Conduct as well as all other Semtech policies, procedures and business conduct standards. These include policies regarding non-discrimination, confidentiality and insider trading to name a few.
In addition, all Semtech suppliers and vendors are also expected to follow this Supplier Code of Conduct, which has its origin with the Electronic Industry Citizen Coalition (EICC). The EICC established this set of standards to ensure that working conditions in the electronics industry supply chain are safe, that workers are treated with respect and dignity, and that business operations are environmentally responsible.
